Now there’s something I need to confess. I am really shocking at remembering names. I am brilliant at faces, faces are my main game, but names I really struggle with. In fact, I spent the first two years of my university career having to think really carefully about which photography lecturer I was going to visit as I actually could never remember which name matched which person. In my head, and since we were introduced to both in the same 5 minutes, I could never quite wrap my head around as to who was who. To this day, I am convinced I would still struggle with this should I bump into them today.

So for this shoot with Shona and Saiorse, whose pronunciation of her name is very different to the language that my South African tongue knows (ja well no fine), the most challenging part was getting this gorgeous baby girl’s name straight in my mind and my mouth! My favourite part of the morning was what I saw through my lens: these two lovely ladies are the sweetest pair, with smiles for days, that in turn made me grin during the entire shoot, as well as the entire time while putting the finishing touches to their images.

We started our shoot in Saiorse’s gorgeous woodland themed nursery, which has been decorated in sherbet shades of pink purple. For the second part of our session, I suggested we get some fresh air and natural light since the sun has decided to peek out, so went to the local woodland like park for a little wander. This setting happened to work as a perfect complement to  the first part of our shoot.
