Use Your Photos: How To Make The Most Of Your Beautiful Photo Shoot Images

So you’ve had a photo shoot, and you’ve just received your gallery of gorgeous images. But what next? You didn’t make your investment to leave those pictures languishing on a hard drive, never to see the light of day. So, how can you use those images now that you have them? Here are my top tips about how to use your photos after your photo shoot.

WHAT’s YOUR INTENTION?

A good place to start is to think about why you’re having photos taken. Are you a business owner wanting new brand photos to update your website? Or a family wanting to capture an important milestone or looking for gifts to share with friends and family?

Whatever your intention, knowing it will help you decide what to do with your photos once you’ve had them delivered.

Brand SHOOT PHOTOS

As a business owner, you’ll reach a point where you want professional photographs taken of your products or services to support your brand. Most people have a brand shoot because they need fresh photos for their website, social media and any printed media, such as brochures and business cards.

A brand photography session is an investment in your business, so make sure you put those images to good use! Have a plan for which photos to publish on your website. Put together a social media plan, so you know which images you’ll be sharing over the coming weeks and months. You can create awesome posts in Canva, using your new photos to bring your brand through even more.

Ultimately, your brand photos will give you consistency across lots of platforms, so make sure you put them to good use.

Family Photos

A family photo shoot is more of a luxury purchase. It’s not compulsory to have a family session, but you’ll treasure those photographs for years to come when you do have one. People forget, though, to do anything with those photos after they’re delivered, and that’s a real shame. Here are some suggestions about how to use your family photographs.

SHARE THEM WITH YOUR LOVED ONES

If you’ve got friends or family living overseas, they’ll love to see pictures from a recent photo shoot of you all. They’ll want to see how the little ones are growing up, and it gives a sense of closeness to share those images with them. The beauty of digital photos is that you can send them quickly, via email, or share them via social media. So don’t be afraid to do that! Your loved ones will definitely thank you for sharing them.

CREATE AN ALBUM

A beautiful, bespoke album is something to treasure. It becomes a family heirloom of sorts. Especially if you build up a collection of them over the years. And isn’t it lovely to sit down and flip through some old albums on special occasions, like a birthday or anniversary? I know I love doing that!

PRINT THEM

It’s so important to print your photos and have them in places you can see around your home.

Create a pretty memory box and pop some of your prints in there. This is something you can add to over the years, and it’ll be something to hand down to your children and grandchildren.

Have prints stuck up on your fridge. Or get some frames and pop them up around the house. Having pictures up around your home helps you to relive those precious memories daily. I can’t think of a better way to fill your home and life with joy. Prints also make great gifts for Granny & Grandpa.

You could even turn your family portraits into personalised Christmas cards to send out to friends and family. Or, if you’re celebrating the arrival of a newborn, why not have some photos made into postcards. You can then send out your new arrival announcements that way, and everyone will love them! Get creative with your photos. Your friends and family will love them!

I offer various products if you don’t want to deal with ordering them yourself. There are albums and prints, as well as digital files, and I make sure they’re of the highest quality, so you get to enjoy them for a lifetime. Find out more about what products I offer.

DIGITAL SLIDESHOWS

You can absolutely enjoy the digital images, as long as you put them somewhere on display! I’ve added photos to my Amazon Drive so I can now view them on my Echo Show as a slideshow. I love to leave them scrolling through while I’m cooking. It always puts a smile on my face.

Ultimately, whatever you choose to do with your photos, please don’t let them be forgotten in the deep, dark corners of your hard drive! Print them out, view them often and, above all, enjoy them as that’s what they are for!

If you’d like to get your photo shoot scheduled so you’ll have lots of beautiful photographs to share and enjoy, do get in touch. I can’t wait to get you in front of my camera!
