Collaboration with Becky Potter Jewellery: Handcrafted Jewellery
I first met Becky Potter over a glass of bubbly and cupcakes earlier this year (as you do!). We chatted about my unusual engagement ring and how I may need to look into a custom fit wedding band. Becky mentioned that she trained in the infamous Hatton Garden in London, and this was exactly the kind of jewellery which she created. I loved the idea of custom made jewellery which was different to anything bought on the high street, but it was Becky’s friendly and easy going manner that made a huge impression on me. Her approach is completely in line with what I do, and out of curiosity I checked out her website, Becky Potter Jewellery.
Becky is quintessentially British, and she creates beautiful handcrafted jewellery in her London workshop. From her custom engagement rings to design-led collections, each item has been individually designed and hand finished with the utmost care. She has been featured in Vogue Magazine in May 2014, and has picked up several awards over the past couple of years, including Management Today’s 35 under 35 award winner. Last week, I photographed Becky and some of her favourite jewellery creations, including her chunky Beach House rings. Becky’s These rings are cast in silver or gold and set with one, two or three diamonds. The shapes and colours they create, either on their own or stacked together, are inspired by a childhood playing by the sand dunes and the docks of the industrial North-West.
We were hosted in one of her supplier’s uber cool retail store for the shoot, London Rocks Jewellery. London Rocks is a Jewellery Design Collective which promotes the best British designer-maker jewellers. Here’s bit more about their approach from their website: “The London Rocks brand is synonymous with beautiful, hand-made, bespoke commissions, which is evident in the vast portfolio of fine jewellery, engagement and wedding rings alongside customer testimonials. London Rocks shop and studio is in the best traditions of Hatton Garden keeping alive the craftsmanship of the UK’s premier jewellery district, delivering a completely personal bespoke service to fine jewellery buyers from around Britain and the world.”
If you would like to get in touch with Becky to chat about designing something especially for you, feel free to give her a shout via her website contact form.
These were tough to narrow down, but here are a few of my favourite images from the shoot. I hope you love them as much as I do! Becky Potter Jewellery
